9:10Robert Killen, DTM, Speaker Hidden Treasure: Discovering the Forgotten Stories that Define You
Do you feel like constant demands are getting the better part of you? Is the weight of endless problem solving and decision making taking its toll? Have you lost track of what you used to love about your work? What if the key to reconnecting with your work in a sustainable and meaningful way is something you already know how to do?
Have you ever been so immersed that you lost complete track of time, ideas and insights were coming in from out of the blue, and things were coming together with a sense of ease? Those moments when you were "getting into it" like a musician gets into the music. During these kinds of experiences, you were in flow. What if you could get into flow, on demand?
Author Diane Allen is a global authority on the flow state. With her Copper Dragon violin, she weaves live musical performance, scientific principles, storytelling, positive psychology, inspiration, and actionable steps so you can be in your genius and love what you do.
Learning Objectives:
Gain basic knowledge and neuroscience of the flow state.
Learn two specific methods to ignite flow.
Discover how to unlock your signature strengths and love what you do.

Ann Snelling, DTM
A Leader with Vision
Being a Visionary Leader is a many-faceted topic. Ann will be drawing upon her experience as a district leader to address one facet of leadership... cultivating people-relations and seeing how it contributes to confidence, growth, and success.
In this session you will be challenged to:
Learn from your past.
Function in the present.
Invest in the future.
Biography
Ann Snelling has been a Toastmaster for 26 years. Ann was motivated to join a Toastmasters club to learn organizational and speaking skills in a formal setting. She had a story to tell but not the polished skill to present it. Her first club, Salem Toastmasters, was primarily all men who were great encouragers, listeners, and evaluators. They helped her get started not only as a speaker but also as a competitor in the speech, table topics, and evaluation contests.
Once in a Toastmasters club, Ann was exposed to the Leadership track. That was of great interest to her and resulted in her leading at the club, area, and division levels. She served at the District Level as the Lieutenant Governor Education and Training. That was so long ago that different titles were used! In the 2008-2009 year Ann was our District Governor (what we now call the District Director). That year District 7 was Distinguished. About her experience as a Toastmaster, Ann says, "There has been significant personal growth in many areas of my life as a result of being in the Toastmasters organization."
